2001 Audi S4

Hey,

Just bought a 2001 Audi S4 and looking to upgrade some stuff on it. Any suggestions or tips? Thinking about chip upgrade and air intake for starters...

Congrats on your new car!

You don't need to upgrade the intake housing, even with a chip. Still not needed but you could consider a drop-in panel filter, avoid excess filter oil as it can clog your Mass Airflow Sensor which will cause the car to slowly run worse over time. A Darintake modded airbox (a big hole in the bottom covered with screen) is good for 2.7T StageIII air intake needs.

A Chip can shorten the life of the stock Turbo's. With a ~15psi chip, the stock Intercoolers will cause a ~2psi restriction at the intake because they were designed for ~9psi boost. This make chipped K03's work even harder to meet chipped boost level so you may want to consider upgrading IC's with a chip. Regular synth oil changes with proper handling, gentle warm up and cool downs will help keep Turbo's happy. Turbo replacement is alot of work to do it yourself and $4Kish labor expensive to have it done.

chip is a great mod but here should be your first mods

depending if yours is an 01 or 01.5

Samco F hose and Throttle body boot (OR) APR Bipipe (more $$)
2 New 710N OEM Diverter Valves
Boost gauge (AWE is the nicest but you can do a 42dd vdo gauge from concept1 in town)

then once you have that complete now you can mod your car for power

APR 91/93 chip from concept1 or Giac X chip from tunerworks
APR downpipes and catback from concept1 or AWE downpipes and twin1 or twin2 from tunerworks

and go from there haha
enjoy the car

you on eurodrivers?
