Default B7 S4 Part Out - Fast Intentions Catback 2.5" X-pipe $750

For Sale - one used Fast Intentions 2.5" X-pipe catback exhaust with 14" resonated section.

This was purchased brand new from JHM in February 2010. Retail price is about $1350...and I'm asking $750 plus your stock catback. Very fair.

This is hands down the best catback exhaust for the B6/7 S4. Along with a JHM tune and piggie or 2.5" downpipes, you'll be as fast/faster than an RS4. See the quarter mile times below for confirmation. It is optimally designed for performance on the 7000 rpm 4.2 litre V8 engine in the S4 with 2.5" diameter all the way through. Mated with piggies or 2.5" downpipes, this allows you to achieve optimal performance on your 4.2 S4. There's an x-pipe crossover for exhaust scavenging. This is the resonated version of the exhaust, which produces a fantastic clean deep sound. I can't tell you how many times I've been stopped and asked about the exhaust on the car.

ASKING $750 + your stock catback, $800 without your stocker.

It is NOT necked down for stock downpipes, but is ready to accept 2.5" downpipes. If you have stock downpipes, you can easily get a 2.25" section welded on the end by an exhaust shop to mate up perfectly.

I have posted videos below showing the sound with both stock downpipes as well as 2.5" catless JHM downpipes (which are also for sale).

found a great photo to illustrate the brilliant design of the Fast Intentions B6/7 catback. This shows a Milltek catback exhaust (LEFT) vs. Fast Intentions B6 catback (right).

1. SHAPE AND DESIGN - As you can see the Milltek is a really terrible design with endless unnecessary bends that restrict flow and hurt your car's ability to evacuate gases effectively.

2. CROSSOVER - the Milltek is an H-pipe (more for sound than anything) crossover, while the Fast Intentions is an x-pipe, that has been shown to encourage exhaust scavenging to make greater power and lends to the fantastic sound.

3. QUALITY OF CONSTRUCTION - as far as quality of materials goes, the Fast Intentions exhaust is second to none. There are minimal connections and the welds are beautifully done. They use highest quality stainless, and keep the design as clean and as simple as possible to ensure consistent, excellent fitment. The milltek on the other hand has loads of clamps and subsections, all the way down to the tips. Inefficient and often annoyiing to hang perfectly, whereas the Fast Intentions is a breeze.

4. DIAMETER - the other big performance difference is that the Fast Intentions is a 2.5" system. The stock catback is 2.125" and Milltek adds only an 1/8th" to get up to 2.25". When you also factor in the numerous bends and kinks in the Milltek design, you can see that flow is not going to be improved very much over stock. Flow bench research done by JHM showed that 2.5" was optimal for a 4.2 S4 (2.25" delivered almost no gains vs. stock...2.75" delivered almost no gains vs. 2.5" but was way more expensive, thus they settled on 2.5"). JHM originally had designed their own exhaust, but when they really thought about it, they decided to endorse the Fast Intentions product as it was so well designed.

pm'd back

2 buyers are in line now. They are both going to require shipping, but I'd love a local sale.

Exhaust will be off the car this week.
