congratulations, welcome, what took you so long?

Congratulations to Saab, Ford, Chrysler, and Nissan (Infiniti) for the
discovery of AWD in a sedan, hatchback or station wagon for the 2004 or 2005
model year.

Congratulations to Subaru for selling the 9-2X to Saab to help in Saab's
"discovery" of AWD.

I guess you never heard of the Pikes Peak T16 4x4 630BHP, 9-3.

Long time before Subaru/GM/Saab built the 9-2.
A product of trollspeed if I recall correctly.

And Congrats to Audi for fooling thousands of people into thinking that 90%
of their model range really is Quattro and not FWD ;-)

Too bad Saab is allowing the brand to be diluted by marketing people.
This is similar to the introduction of the V6, for people who are more
interested in piston count than engine output.

It's never been necessary, with Saab's winter handling characteristics.
It's strictly a marketing move. If it allows the real Saab designs to
continue, it's tolerable.

Chrysler's been making AWD sedans and wagons since the late '70s (the AMC
Eagle -- AMC was acquired by Chrysler in the 80s).

So I guess that Chrysler discovered this long before Audi.

And lets not forget the Eagle Talon, in AWD form w/ turbo it was/is a very
good platform to race with.
