Audi Angling For American Production?
Ask the average American why they oppose the recent financial-sector bailout, and a devalued dollar will likely rank high in their answer. But perhaps what's being missed in the hysteria is that a weaker dollar provides America with an opportunity to rediscover something we used to be pretty well known for: making high-quality products and [...]

Re: Audi Angling For American Production?
In Montreal, we always said that a low currency is very good for the
industry.
The problem has been that in America and the UK, people have moved
away from manufacturing and that does NOT lead the way to a good
strong economic basis and we suffer that dearly in the Universities,
especially in engineering.
A good economy is a balance between all sorts of activities and we
have to maintain a capacity in high level manufacturing and leave the
low levels to China and India.
Montreal is the world is cheapest metropolis and a very exciting place
to live since you have access there to a large number of festivals,
great bars, very good cheap food, free cultural centers and very good
music in both French and English. Plus, you can taste all the world´s
cultures, all of that in a very safe environment (35 people
assassinated per year in a 3.5 millions metro area, thanks to the free
health care and good social services).
I hope that Audi looks for Montreal to build its factory.

I hope so too, manufacturing is an integral part of any economy small or large, only countries with strong manufacturing as well as great economic reforms can sustain strong growth, everyone is moving towards the financial sector(Due to higher salaries) leaving an imbalance in other sectors
