98 A4 Fuel Gage intermittant
The Fuel Gage on my '98 A4 V6 has started to work only intermittantly.
Any one else have a similar problem. Is the problem likely to be the "sender" in the tank? or possibly a wiring problem? It works briefly on and off when the car is started and then only works very infrequently. Thanks |

Thanks the tank sender would probably be the starting point.......and the cheapest. |

Access is via a hatch in the boot/trunk/load space floor. It is recommended to disconnect the battery negative lead before working on this unit. remove trim on floor panel and undo the access hatch. unplug wiring from sender. unplug fuel lines (use rags to mop any spillage) unscrew large plastic ring. lift out sender unit. if you are going this far it may pay to cost and/or have ready a new unit to put back in. dj |
