Default New User Question: What's this?

Sorry, can't post a picture as my car is at home....

Just yesterday bought a 2012 A7 and in my limited time with it, I've fallen heads over heels... but a small niggling question if I might.

I have four zone climate control, and just below the controller in the back seat is a little drawer/lid. It appears to be one of those push and release opening things, but mine won't open. So I really don't know what it is... should it even open? It's about 6 inches wide and 2 inches high with a horizontal trim bar on it.

Oh, and similar small query... in the spot between the two rear seats, there is sort of a console. Two shallow bins; one large and one small. My large one has a black plastic or rubber base, but the small bin does not. It only has the same plastic as t he console itself, and two small holes. Should there be a small rubber mat there? I presume so, but figure someone here will know for sure.

Thanks, in advance.

Jerry

Jerry: welcome, the drawer / lid should either be a cup holder or possibly a 12 volt access for power. Can't help you on the back seat console config.
