Underside Rust - Bought a CPO
Hey all, new member looking for some advice.
I bought a 2013 A5 last summer, 40k km (it now has 60k). Ottawa, Ontario (now moved to Vic)
I needed to get the front driver bearing replaced due to a loud whine, CPO warranty covered that - but while they were under there, apparently there was a lot of corrosion. Supposedly the knuckle assembly was "completely eaten away", so I got a new guide link, wheel speed sensor, wishbone ($800??) and "housing" ($1000) for a total bill of $2500.
Am I screwed / lesson learned? Eventually the other side will need to be done as well... likely the same problem. I even got the Krown rust proofing done last fall, but I guess the previous owner didn't ever rustproof it.
