How do I listen music from Galaxy S4 in 2013 Audi S5 ??
 

Hi guys,

I have a 2013 Audi S5 with optional glacier white paint and 19 inch rims.

I used to have an iPhone 4S, so playing music through the supplied iPhone/iPod wire (in glove box, AMI system) was fine, I could see track names on my screen and control stuff with my steering wheel controls.

I recently upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S4 phone, and my car doesn't support Bluetooth audio streaming (I have the base Audi Concert sound system).

I tried searching for a solution, and I bought a microUSB cable from eBay thinking that I could connect my Galaxy (Audi Music Interface AMI MMI AUX Micro USB Cable)

While the cable does feed power to my phone, I can't seem to be able to play music...

So how do I play music?? When I connect my Galaxy S4 to the Audi AMI, it says "Audi Music Interface: there are no playable tracks on the device".

I have an extra microUSB flash card 16Gb installed, on which all my music was placed. Even when I put music tracks in the "Music" folder of the phone's internal memory, I still get the same "no playable tracks on device" message...

Does anyone here know how to play music using a Galaxy phone or any Android phone ???

Your S5 should be equipped with Bluetooth streaming. Try it with BT.

As I mentioned, it doesn't do Bluetooth streaming. I have the base Audi Concert audio system...

I can only do Bluetooth for voice on cell calls.

I would have liked to be able to control my phone through MMI and steering wheel... That's why I bought the initial microUSB cable hoping it would work.

I can't believe a 2013 Audi S5 can't control an Android phone... Shame on Audi in such an expensive car. :(

My brother's 2013 VW Jetta Comfortline plays Bluetooth audio streaming no problem...

Is it possible maybe it's not working because the cable isn't authentic Audi? You should consider going to the dealer and have them loan you the micro USB original Audi cable and try it. I have a hard time believing audi's MMI doesn't stream music with Android.

Also, what format are the music files on your SD card and on your Android? Are they all mp3?

Yes all the files are mp3.

Purchased from iTunes Store and converted to MP3 through iTunes program. Very simple.

When I load everything on an SD card and put it in my Audi Concert system, it works fine.

So there is no Bluetooth audio streaming in a base 2013 Audi S5... Shame on you Audi !!!

I too am looking for an answer ...2013 s4 with no navi

I am also having the same problem. Tried on my 2013 A6 Hybrid and 2011 Audi Q5. The cable with my Samsung S4 does not work for both cars. It can only charge the S4. Cannot locate the songs and cable.
