Re: Tips and tricks......for your audi
do you know if the steering wheel was replaced? is it a stock deck? aftermarket?
Are the controlls even connected?
if the steeringwheel was replaced, due to syling or a blown airbag, and they got a deal, and didnt connect the electronics then that might stop it from working or being able to program it.
If it's an aftermarket deck there are devices to make that work. As far as enabling them with the vag-com, you would have to see if there is a code to enable or disable them.

You can also press the right most top and bottom buttons for 3-4 secs on the air controls.. the up arrow and bottom arrow..
and you get the menu of all sorts of stuff..
menu 17 = KM/h
menu 26 or was it 28 = RPM
etc
most are AC etc flap controls and switch statuses..
press AUTO to go back to normal
also to switch Farenheit to celsius.. its the bottom button and the + near it.. in order

Re: Tips and tricks......for your audi
It sure works try not doing it for a few months and come back to it, if the car was serviced recently then it was done and it is tough to find out the change sometimes as it adapts to your driving style over time

You are correct it was serviced just before i picked it up so they probably just did it. Ok thanks for the info, I will try that again after a few thousand kms

Re: Tips and tricks......for your audi
Sweet deal, thanks guys for all the tips. I used my VAG-COM to change all my display to Km/h (misu the speedo of course) but the Fahrenheit display was still intact so I look forward to changing it to Celcius!
