2016 A4 quattro: Roof Rack and Canoe Installation
 

Hi. Not sure if this is the right category to post this... but I have a question for fellow A4 (2013 - 2106) owners about roof racks and canoes.
I was planning on purchasing a canoe (and possibly the audi roof rack system) but I noticed that the bottom of my A4 is basically covered with plastic guards! The plastic guards prevent me from attached the bow and stern of the canoe to the frame of the vehicle (to keep the front and back of the canoe straight while driving). I believe the newer models of the A4 have more plastic guarding than older models..)
Has anyone figured out a way to put a canoe on the top of their A4? Am I missing something? Is there a roof rack system that does NOT require you to attach the canoe to the front or the back of the car?
