I think there are a few others who have had this issue. For the past two months there has been a burning rubber smell on the PASSENGER side of the engine bay, near the wheel. At first I thought it was the tire as I knew that the balancing was off. The problem persisted when I got my new winters put on. Then I thought it was the serpentine belt, but when that was replaced (it snapped, threw my PS pump and tensioner with it...lol) the smell is STILL there. Now, my thinking is that if it were a hose that had fallen and was sitting against the block, it would have burned through by now, surely. So I don't know what it is! I have noticed that is is much more prominent when the engine has been under strain, such as driving up a long hill at 3000rpm the whole way.

Any thoughts?
