2016 Audi A3 Sportback e-tron - in Canada?
 

Any news on whether the 2016 Audi A3 Sportback e-tron will be available in Canada?

It is already listed on the US site, with pricing and a launch date in October. If it will be available in Canada, when will it be available and what is the estimated pricing?

I found one site that mentions it: Read Auto News Audi readies launch of A3 Sportback e-tron | Autofile.ca

They say "expect Canadian price to be in the $44,000 range, when it’s announced. The car will be available in the U.S. in October and is expected in Canada probably around the same time. The buy-in will come down significantly, depending on provincial incentives."

I don't know if this is a credible site or just a source of rumours.

Local dealer told me they would be in mid August. Still waiting.

$44,600 Technik - 17", Nav, Upgraded sound, Rear Camera, Autodim Mir, LED head & other lights, Advanced Parking assist

Thanks for the info. There are rebates offered by some provinces:

BC - $2500 for purchase, or 36 month lease
ON - $6077 for purchase
QC - $4000 for purchase, or $1000 per 12 months of lease (up to $4000)

I don't know about other provinces. To my knowledge, there are no federal incentives.

Also up to $1000 in PQ & ON for home charging station.
Unfortunately no incentives on the East Coast. :crazy:

When it come to the e-tron A3 my real question is why did they bother?
Range on pure electric is only about 26 km (16 miles). and you lose the spare tire to make room for the battery.

I dropped into Audi Halifax and there was an E-tron sitting there so I asked a sales rep. She printed off the price sheet for me. Didn't yet know when it will be available for sale.
