I just picked up a 98 Audi A6 Quattro 2.8L also. Silver and 150k. I'm still doing some research on the car, any info about maintainance, upgrading stereo system, or any other little things about the car is much appreciated.

Default Also new to Audi

The wife wanted all wheel drive, and the only option that made sense to me was the A6. Bone stock 1998 A6 2.8... for now.

Had an 84GTi, 90 Fox, 89 Jetta, 90 Golf, and a 96 Jetta diesel. Confident the Audi will be as good as those.
Also currently a 735i owner, had a 90 325i, and an 84 533i amongst some GM and japanese junk

Looking forward to the Audi experience!

Cool Re: Calling A6 Owners...

Hello everyone, I just picked up my 2nd Audi, a 2001 A6 4.2L. Looooove the ride. Prior to this, I had a 1994 Audi 100 which I ran up to 440K km. I'm having a hard time letting it go as I am emotionally attached now. Couldn't pass up the '01 a6 though as I got it 4 $5K. Needed a little bit of work and I am slowly ploughing through.

Just joined the community and I look forward to sharing with everyone

Just registered to these forums! I actually also just purchased a 2000 2.7T tiptronic and I'm loving it (except for whenever I head to the gas pumps).

Hows everyone's fuel consumption for their A6s? I know it depends a lot on how you drive, but I'm getting around 14-15L per 100 km...

Thumbs up Re: Calling A6 Owners...

Well, my car has had a complete suspension redo - I ended up with Eibach pro kit! H Sport sways front and rear. What a tranformation!!! Went thru some local Esses and boy did it stick to the road! The front stayed planted in the direction I wanted to go and the back started to howl and also stayed planted - snow tires are still on though. The car stuck to the road very very well! With my old suspension it handled this bend well but with the new set up tons better!!

Next - brakes - cross drilled and slotted with Hawk HPS pads and replace the lines with braided. I am no racer just want the best when I do need it! If I take 10 ft. off my stopping distance from 100 km/h ...well worth it.

Sold my A6 - Young man bought it and is looking after it quite nicely! Still in the Audi family though - A4 Avant! Has many extras and is very fast!

Hey guys (and maybe gals?),

I have a 1999 A6 (2.8 Quattro) and i'm in Etobicoke.
Got the car more than a year ago and i'm really happy with it.

Does anyone have any recommendations on some indie shops that specialize in Audi/VW in the Etobicoke or even Toronto area?
