Relay locations

A new to me 2008 A6 with a 3.2FSI. Keyed ignition

On a long (500 km) trip, in last 75 km, the engine shut down with all lights blazing on cluster and a warning "park brake malfunction." Did this 4 times, each time, after a short (2 or 3 minute wait), it started normally and ran normally.

Ran fine for a few days, then did not start. Key in ignition unlocks steering. Key in run position did nothing, no cluster lights (except clock, odometer, etc.). Power windows did not work. MMI normal. Started normal the next day.

Reading through previous threads, and reading the Audi A6 05 Electrics Service Training guide, I think a possibility might be relay J329 or J694. I believe these relays control power to the "run" circuits. I found relays under the dash on the drivers side, a relay in the trunk on the passengers side, and two relays in the engine compartment near the brake reservoir (under the cover). I pulled each relay one at a time and none of them affected the cluster lights. I'm assuming J329 and J694 are lurking somewhere else.

I hope it is not a failure of the access and start authorization module. From what I read, a failure there causes the steering wheel not to unlock.

So, i guess I have two questions.
1) Any idea what might be causing the no start?
2) Where are J329 and J694.

Thanks...

Re: Relay locations

Fixed it. Turned out to be the 370 relay under the dash. A 10 ohm resistor in series with the coil was open. A new relay and all is good.
