LED fog/daytime bulbs???
Hey guys - I just picked up an 2007 A6 4.2 S-line. Love the car, but I hate the fact I have Xeon headlights with regular yellow-ish fog lamps (I don't know why this is done) I would really like to put LED bulbs into the fogs and daytime runners to give it a more uniform look. Does anyone have any suggestions as the best brands or kits - from what I read some can give an error message.
Thanks in advance. |

Congrats on the new motor.
I simply bought some bulbs on ebay. It is a subtle change but I quite like the result. Excuse the crappy pics... Attachment 13823 https://www.audiforum.ca/attachment....ine=1370714913 |
Re: LED fog/daytime bulbs???
Thanks. Looks good. Did you get an error message with just the bulb replacement? What brand did you use? and did you do the fogs as well?
Thanks |
Re: LED fog/daytime bulbs???
Happy to advise bulbs are error free.
Here is the bulb/seller info: http://www.ebay.com/itm/121055925875?item=121055925875&viewitem=&vxp=mtr Have no info on the fogs. |

I got The same bulbs from e-bay for my DRL and I did get the error message on my 2008TT. The seller reimbursed me 50% to compensate and I got some load resistor added to get rid of the error (50w 6ohm in parallel to each bulb). Takes 5 minutes to install.
As for the fog lights, I went with an halogen yellow bulb (Nokya Hyper Yellow 2500K) Here is the results. |
Re: LED fog/daytime bulbs???
Beaven X5, Where did you get the load resistor? I'm having the same problem with my error light... are there specific ones for each car or no?

Re: LED fog/daytime bulbs???
They are not really specific for the car. As long as the resistor is sufficient to fool the car computer.
I got them off e-bay in April off a seller called ehotseller06. The item description is: 2 X LED Turn Signal Load Resistor Blinker Fix 50W 6ohm and is currently being sold on e-bay under item # 121121416640 for $5.69 a set. Jut make sure you mount the resistors against a metal part as it can generates a little heat that you don't want in the light housing. The wires are long enough for this. |
