Question 4.2L reliability and fuel consumption

Like the title says. How is the 4.2L and does it take hi-octane?

I haven't really heard of any reliability problems and I haven't had any issues but I've only had it a few months.

You need to use 91 octane as the minimum. For milage I have yet to crack the 16MPG I usually end up with mid 15's. 14.xl/100km ish.

Great engine. I have not experienced any reliability problems or heard of any. Use 91 min. There are several threads on fuels so I son't get into it but I tend to use Shell because it doesn't contain Ethanol

The only thing I had to get fixed (replaced) was the secondary airpump on the 4.2

I have had no issues whatsoever with mine. Great engine in my opinion. Definitely use minimum 91 octane.

I get 700km to a tank with my car but that is mostly highway....work out to an average of 10L/100km.

Pretty good.

Is this a 4.2 that you are getting 700km to a tank on?
