Angry Rust on 2001 A6

Hello everybody! I have a serious issue with my A6; there are two rusty spots on the left side. It's just appeared this year. I'd appreciate if anybody could give me a useful piece of advice as to what to do. Does Audi provide a life-time warranty on that? Thanks in advance !

Isn't the A6 body made out of aluminum? I know that the A8 is and the A4 isn't. Aluminum isn't suppose to rust. Anyways, you can use water and baking soda. When you mix it together make sure it comes out in a clay-like matter and that will get rid of the rust.

Early morning here, if I didn't make sense. Please let me know

Thats pretty surprising, has the car had any auto body work before?
The body is galvanized so rust isn't much of an issue, even for older cars than a 2001

The only place that I have rust on my car is in the back, the chrome piece on the back trunk lid

pretty sure theres 144 months and unlimited mileage rust coverage. take your car to the dealership. btw the only a6's with aluminum body panels were the 4.2's and only the hood and the front fenders are aluminum

Audi's 12 year rust warranty is for Perforation. From what I recall, surface rust is not covered.

what does the water and baking soda do? does it clean it off paint, or seal the metal to prepare for painting?

It actually removes it. I only used it on chrome though, I'm not sure that I would use it on actual paint.
