Default MAF signal low P0102

I recently started to get a MAF P0102 code w/ a check engine MIL. I change the MAF w/ one from the dealer. It didn't get any better, so i looked at the Bentley diagrams and ran 3 out of the 4 wire directly to the ECM. still didn't help. I have ondered a fuel pump relay and will swap out today. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do next if that doesn't work?

thanks

Have you measured the actual signal, is it perhaps a restriction pre maf

Yeah, time to bust out the multimeter and move down the line reading the signal wire. The MAF signal should be a 0-5 Volt scale. I don't know what voltage your engine will be at idle, but Google should turn that up rather easily. Obvious spots to check are connectors and any damaged wiring...

Thumbs up Re: MAF signal low P0102

thanks everyone for your help. I finally found the problem...the car was right...there was an air leak in the intake manifold. The only way I was able to find it was by puffing a cigar and blowing the smoke into the vacuum line that attaches to the blowoff valve. It was pretty funny doing that but it was my last resort since the carb or choke spray method of leak detection wasn't working. By the way I also tried doing the same thing using a fog machine but it didn't have enough pressure to fill the lines.

End result = if MIL P0102 is saying low signal voltage check for leaks first--preferably with smoke.
