Default Cluster question !!!!

Hi,
it's happens to me a few time that i driving around town at night without turning on
the Head lights. The reason is the unlucky setup from Audi for the DRL.
All the time the fog lights, sidemarker, tail lights and the complete interior is illuminated and
last but not least, the "parking light" light too.
to avoid this prob i bought a "Auto light Module" for my 2001 A6.
It's already hooked up and works perfect, but i would like to hook one of the aux from the module
to this "Parking light" light.
The wire diagram said, it is the green/yellow wire on the 32 pin blue connector.
i pulled this wire, but the light in the cluster is still on.
is it a different wire ?

I need help please.

Thanks
Frank

What "parking light" are you referring to? The only thing I could think of is if you have E-Code headlights with the tiny little 194-type bulb in each headlight. If that is what you're referring to then you can hardwire that to any of your side indicators.

I think you need the Vag-Com to bypass that, I don't think it's just a matter of pulling certain wires. I have a better understanding now as I had a similar issue since my A6 was originally a US car and I had a dealer upgrade the equipment to pass a US-import safety inspection. A Vag-Com is one of the most useful things you can have if plan to be working on your car.

Usually you can find someone local who can do Vag-Com updates/modifications for $40 or so. That's generally a fair price. If you have constant CEL issues then you may consider purchasing one for yourself.

That light stay on on my cluster also. However, I always thought it was the 'daytime running lights' - aka, the fog lights at the corners of the lower grilles.

I could be wrong as I've only owned my car for six month!
