Default Aux. Coolant Pump - 4.2

Anyone know where the Aux. coolant pump is located on the 4.2? ( I am assuming it has one) I know the 2.7 is located under the intake... but I can't find any info on the 4.2's....

Your engine code AWN 4.2 does not have one, one less leak to worry about

The Aux Coolant Pump is typically for Turbo cars.

My '99 passat 2.8 AHA has it. You can run the heat for 20 min. after shutting off the engine. How is it that a passat has this feature but the top A6 with cold weather and premium package does not?!? The 4.2 would be a good candidate for saving fuel. If it truly does not have one, any idea's on how to put one in?

Maybe a pump off a 2.7, and a series of solenoids ( If ignition = off & blower = on & Outside temp =< 15 celcius)
maybe not the last one... might be a little difficult with $3 relays.

If anyone has a practical approach to this I'd love to hear it.

After you drive a 4.2, the 2.7T becomes a distant memory...........

I'd upgrade to a RS6 before I downgrade to a V6... There's no replacement for displacement!

A stock 2.7T car with only a chip is over 300HP.

Current 2.7T at 380HP and 410 ft-lbs Torque with a heluva low end spool kick... with room to grow by adding more fueling. I've driven a few 300HP 4.2's and they are great but I'll take my 2.7T with cake any day!

Go for it

I'd love an RS6. I've been looking for one but a good RS6 is pretty rare... still looking.

Youve missed the point of the 4.2 then. If you want kick get a motorcycle...........

I disagree, I like the flat torque curve smoothness of the 4.2's... that's part of why I choose to drive a tickled 2.7T!

Besides, kinda hard to daily drive a motorcycle in this climate
