engine light on and won't turn off!!

hi just wondering if anyone knew what i could do with this problem,

my 1999 audi A6 check engine light turned on awhile ago and i had my cat. converters replaced, but they were not audi parts because they were more expensive. the light is still on and dealerships don't know why, any ideas?

Check the emission/oxygen sensors maybe?

Is the light blinking? If it isn't, then the problem isn't that urgent.
Personally, I would do the VAG-test by my self, I wouldn't trust the dealership. Check the whole engine, if it doesn't find anything wrong then just erase the engine light.

have you checked for any errors? Is it possible for you to have the computer reset? maybe it has trouble dropping an error code...

why did you change your cats? were you running shitty gas? clogged cats could result in ****ed oxygen sensors.

my light went on about a year ago for the first time, them went off, then on , my mechanic has assured me that it is ok to drive with and have located the problem to the temp sensor which is on order for the next servcie.
