Changing digital display - metric/imperial
My car was originally a US car and I wanted to change the odometer from miles to km's, but when I had it changed it messed up the time and calendar (ie, a 5 looks like a 6 because it added the extra bit).
Has anyone had this happen and know if there is some kind of fix? |

Yup, I just had the same problem with my 2002 Allroad when we changed the odometer to kms. It too messed up the clock and date display, as well as showing a little satellite symbol by the clock (which didn't show up when we had it in miles).

How do you change it from imperial to metric? 2001 TT.

That's exactly the same thing I have (satellite symbol).
I just did this on a 2001 a6 2.7t and it worked (now in kms) but showing this symbol too. Has anyone found out what this is or how to just display a normal date? I am thinking possibly this is some type of RDS clock or it is supposed to pull a signal from somewhere to adjust the time, is this right? My original coding was 02264 and I changed it to 02364 - that should be correct? |

Re: Changing digital display - metric/imperial
Old thread, I know.
Mine does the same. It's an 02. The antenna is showing the signal is being sought to automatically update the calendar. The sucky part is we don't have this in Canada yet the coding appears to assume we do. Software bug. Since I like my clock and date, I'm using the USA coding. {sigh** edit: I thought I read somewhere that somebody replaced their dash/gauge panel and the problem was resolved. They suspected it was in the printed circuit vs software communication. I'd like to see what vag code a stock CDN market car is using. Maybe it's a combination of the IC and other regional coding that'd make this work? |
