Camshaft sensor

Hello Folks,

Need some advice... I need to replace the Camshaft sensor- left side, on my 2003 A6.

I can look down and see the sensor, but it is hard to reach to remove.

Do I need to move the anti-freeze reservoir to reach?

Is this a simple DIY procedure?

Thanks.
Frank

Re: Camshaft sensor

Bank 2 is drivers side.

Just had the sensors replaced on my 2.8 and it was a PITA...passengers side is easy but drivers side is close to the firewall and a lot of things interfere with working back there.

You definitely need to move the reservoir to reach, may even have to disconnect one of the coolant hoses and spill the reservoir contents to get the sensor off and on there.
