C5 4.2L Transmission Oil Change - Recommendations
Hey guys,
I was having a little shifting 2nd to 3rd problem for a couple of weeks where is would be like driving in sport mode while in D. I did alot of reading on this forum and some others and found a thread that involved reseting TCM. After doing all the steps in the post I instantly had 2nd to 3rd shifting at the normal RPM. This now 4th day and no problems with shifting. I never had hard shifts or anything like that, just late shifting which to me was wasting alot more gas bringing my avg from 17.2l/100km to 19.0l/100km Just to be I guess safe, I wanted to change the oil in the tranny and although Audi claims that this is a life time oil I don't trust it. I'm not sure what brand of oil I should go with. I want to put best oil I can in the tranny so if one of you guys can give me some suggestions that would be great. car is 2004 A6Q 4.2L 5spd Tip |

Just read your post today. I exclusively use OEM Transmission Oil for the Tips. How did the trans flush go and did you do it yourself?

everything went excellent. I did do it myself. I have noticed smooth shifting since the flush, magnets has some debris but not much overall tranny looked very clean. I'm glad I did it, oh and I did use OEM aswell
