C5 4.2L Transmission Oil Change - Recommendations

Hey guys,

I was having a little shifting 2nd to 3rd problem for a couple of weeks where is would be like driving in sport mode while in D. I did alot of reading on this forum and some others and found a thread that involved reseting TCM. After doing all the steps in the post I instantly had 2nd to 3rd shifting at the normal RPM. This now 4th day and no problems with shifting. I never had hard shifts or anything like that, just late shifting which to me was wasting alot more gas bringing my avg from 17.2l/100km to 19.0l/100km

Just to be I guess safe, I wanted to change the oil in the tranny and although Audi claims that this is a life time oil I don't trust it. I'm not sure what brand of oil I should go with.

I want to put best oil I can in the tranny so if one of you guys can give me some suggestions that would be great.

car is 2004 A6Q 4.2L 5spd Tip

Just read your post today. I exclusively use OEM Transmission Oil for the Tips. How did the trans flush go and did you do it yourself?

everything went excellent. I did do it myself. I have noticed smooth shifting since the flush, magnets has some debris but not much overall tranny looked very clean. I'm glad I did it, oh and I did use OEM aswell
