Colling System Leak!
I have an Audi 1996 2.8L Station Wagon having 150K miles with a random cooling leak. I recently had the radiator replaced and expansion tank. The Temperature Gauge and sensors seems to be working correctly, but recently I noticed leaking from the rear of engine. At the time of the leaking, I did not notice any leaking from the radiator or front of car. There are no signs of coolant and oil mixture, when checking the oil. The leaking has stopped and the cooling system seems to be norm. Are there any ideas on what maybe causing this problem? Thanks.

Re: Colling System Leak!
this could be just a little hole in one of the hoses or a little leak from the water pump. You can start by mixing a bit of stop leak for antifreeze which is a type of powder and would prbably clog the little hole , if that doesnt work could be the water pump which is a pain in the ***

Re: Cooling System Leak!
Just thought I would sympathize....
I have a 2001 A6 4.2 which I was recently told has a coolant system leak -- something about an "o-ring" seal. Service guy says it is behind the motor and will be $700-800 in labour (I'm still waiting for the full estimate) to replace a $2 part.
Fantastic... what a great Christmas present for me.
