Stuck keyfob when shutting car off!
Hello all,
We just recently added a 2009 Audi A4 Quattro to the family for my wife to drive.
The car is not equipped with the push button start so it used the inserted keyfob.
My wife has been experiencing a stuck keyfob when shutting the car off about 50%
of the time that she stops somewhere. I drove it last weekend and didn't experience
any issues so I assume it's something that she is or isn't doing at this point.
I was just curious if anyone else has experienced this issue in the past and then
resolved it by changing your shut off routine, key position, pausing a certain amount
of time after pushing the fob in, etc. Any suggestions would be helpful as it is the
one thing my wife doesn't love about the car, but right now it is ruining her experience
with her new car
Right now each time it gets stuck, she needs to turn the car back on and try again,
usually several times. This seems like a needless strain on the starter, and wasted fuel.
If you keep your foot off of the brake and insert the keyfob, is that at least a way to
retry getting the fob out without turning the ignition back on?
Thanks for anyone's experiences and/or suggestions ahead of time!

Re: Stuck keyfob when shutting car off!
Not sure if this is the case in her situation, but often people try to take the key out when the steering wheel lock is keeping it from doing so. Turning the car back on "releases" the wheel enough for them to now get the key out.
Have her try turning the wheel left or right a tiny bit (it will only move so far) after she shuts the car off and see if it releases the key.

Hi, I noticed that happens when you want to pull out the key too qucickly right after shutting the engnine off. Tell her to push it in to shut off the engine, wait until it releases and then pull it.
