Ordered a new 2012 A4 ... some questions
Been a A3 owner for the past 3 years and it's been a great vehicle. My lease is almost up and i ordered a new A4 black on black.
I was on a budget so i ordered the stock A4 with Xenon option. When i test drove the demo i noticed the 8 speed tip was allot more responsive then my DSG 6 in the A3. 0-60 was definitely allot faster and less turbo lag. What mileage do you guys average with the new 211hp 8sp? I was averaging around 10l/100km with the A3.
The A4 i got is not the sport package so it doesn't have the chrome exhaust tips, any ideas of a good aftermarket? I checked ebay and they are $40-$80 shipped from asia, they any good?
Any good suggestions for tint job? I am deciding between a split job or 35% all around. Anybody have any sample pics for a black A4?
Thanks for any replies in advance, i can't wait to get my new A4.

A4 gets better mileage with age. I have the 6sp Tiptronic and usually get 9.5L/100km with mostly highway. It was returning much worse in the beginning

Re: chrome tips, I got these: http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B8_A4-...OEM/ES2143320/ which are quite the bargain. Even though it says they don't fit on single muffler dual outlet models, they fit on my 2010 B8 just fine (I had to buy some longer M8 screws and play around with fitment a little).
Re: fuel economy, I commute from downtown T.O. to north end of Missauga (gardiner, 427 then 401) and get about 7.2-7.7L/100km in light-medium traffic and about 8.5-9 L/100km when there's heavy stop and go (my driving style is only semi-aggressive, I don't drive slow but I don't mash on the gas, I try to be smooth on the accelerator). These numbers are with a 6sp Tip (I have 19k on the car), so I imagine you might get marginally better numbers on the highway with the 8sp (depending on our driving stye).

Re: tint, check out my pics from my previous post:

25% rear, 35% front. I've had that mix on other cars, and it is a good balance for me. Looks fantastic on black on black IMO

Thanks for the tint info, i am all set with that.
With regards to tips, any pics of the OSIR design installed? Any place you recommend i order and install in Toronto?
Do you need to weld them or just screws?

Re: Ordered a new 2012 A4 ... some questions
Sorry, one more pic, a close-up. I installed them off-vertical a little (tilted towards the passenger side) so they more closely follow the line of the valence. The result is that the "bottom" screw ends up being a bit more visible at the bottom of the left side tip. I could try to find a flatter head M8 screw but I can't be bothered yet...
Also, I have them sticking out a little (and not flush) becuase it hides the oem ends a bit better, and I like the protruding look.
These ECS tips are definitely fatter than the oem chrome tips which some may not like but I'm pretty satisfied.

Re: Ordered a new 2012 A4 ... some questions
thanks for the pics.
i think i might order that or the oem depending on the cost i can get from the dealership.
so far i am going to mod....
1. HID Fogs
2. LED License Plate
3. LED Interior
4. Blackout Grill + Rings
In the summer i'll drop it by 1.5" with VMR 710 19" rims.
