New car guides to follow
Hello,
I've been doing searches on the forum for steps to follow when owning a new car and have found all sorts of information - some contradicting others. Anyone have some guide lines to follow with owning a new vehicle?
I have read the owners manual about break-in periods and brake wear... I'm sure there are other things to keep an eye. Should I avoid rain? I say this because it will lead to me washing the car each time it rains... is too much car washing bad for a new vehicle? And I understand I should avoid machine car wash's, what about the touch-less ones? For example, today I wanted to go for a cruise but the weather forecast predicts rain this afternoon and evening

Its just a car. Drive it, enjoy it.
I have owned all kinds of cars over the years, most of which I have quite honestly not done anything more than take to the dealer for scheduled services, and routine maintenance on wear and tear items (brakes, tires, etc.). I only use a car wash, never wax it, and only clean out he inside once a year (yes you heard me, once a year).
Now I do plan to take better care of the new A4 I just purchased but todays cars really don't need much outside of what I have said above. The car I am replacing is a 2000 Mazda 626 that looks fantastic and runs amazing...good deal for whomever I sell it to.
The break in period is a different story and care needs to be taken, good info elsewhere on the forums.
Mark.

Hmmm might take me a few weeks to not be a super "****" about it haha. I see what you mean though, enjoy it.
Here are three pics I took before the drive home on the highway, ultimate front end protection! lol
