Hey guys,

First off, new to the board and completely new to audi's.
Lol after reading the oil consumption related issues and etc, I'm second guessing myself for purchasing (the car just looks and feels so sweet though......)
I have 40k km on it, it's a 2011 6sp mt . And is a certified pre owned from audi. It's a base model with led and Bluetooth options, that's it I think.

Is there any year more susceptible to the oil consumption issue, and is there anything I can do about it? The car scares me just by looking at it (ie trying to find out how to check oil, and topping up so as to not overfill)
What other common problems am I in store for, and what can I do to avoid?

Also interested on how people feel about oil spray undercoating , apparently audi has a good corrosion warranty, but I've always been a fan of oil spray etc

I believe that the worst years were '09/'10 other owners can correct me, I had an '08 with no issues and I now have a '12 with no issues so far, both were 2.0 with 6 spd mt. I don't know how many K's you have driven since your purchase but from what I have read you would know fairly quickly if you are having issues with oil consumption.

Thanks for responding. I drove about 500kms so far and the oil level on the computer went down by the look of it one notch down from max.....hope that's normal

It has 40k Kms on it...and me and the car have a shining thing going on....I love it....

Hey Mark,

With respect to the oil burning issue and because it is pre-owned, look at the service history for any Oil 1/Oil 2 tests. It is a lower mileage car but would have only experienced 2 possibly 3 oil changes during that time.

Additionally, you want to keep your oil change intervals to a max of 7-75K km and not the Audi 15K. Do use a quality syn oil and filter.
