I have a 2009 and they have offered me a great buyback for my car. I am temped to get the new 2014 Progressiv but I understand the new A4 is coming out soon. Not sure when exactly, I have heard sometime in late 2014 or early 2015. Should I wait for it or buy now? I did buy a 2009 the year it came out and I do regret a little bit buying the first model because there were significant changes made after such as the transmission and LED tailights.

Any thoughts?

Having learned from your experience I would strongly recommend to either get the last year of production of the b8 having worked out 99% of its issues in addition to throwing in great incentives and rebates while getting perks like sline packages ...etc.

Nothing is official yet however keep in mind that i would be VERY careful purchasing a 1st year production car...it looks like the new platform code name B9 should be launched in North America in the summer 2016

You see, i find It hard to believe it that the B9 would be out in 2014 since you can now get the 2014 lollll

The facelift B8.5 just came out for 2013, they are not going to run that for only one year. The facelift usually runs for 2-3 years. The A4 has a 7 year cycle and it comes out a year earlier in Europe. The B8 was a 2008 model, so Europe can expect the B9 in 2015 and we will get it in 2016!...voila

Buy the car whenever it makes financial sense for you.

There is always something new being added, small things like LED taillights, big things like a new model look. It's a losing game if you want to have everything though I guess in Europe when you can pretty much build an Audi they way you want.

Go to the UK site and build out an Audi; it's fun seeing what options can be put together but depressing for us in in North America.

When they roll out Progressiv package it means they're getting close to end of production.. but 2015 still seems far away.. It will save you more money in the long run if you wait it out til the release of the new body and decide if you want to pick up an end B8 or an early B9. Either way, depreciation is much lower on an older car than on a newer car (b8 or b9)
