Default Accuracy of Oil Consumption Test A4 2009

I just recently went through an oil consumption test at a local Audi dealership with my 2009 A4.

I was told that I burned through .8L from the start to when I brought it in.

I was down to a min reading (from max at the start) at about 1020k. Audi could not see me once I hit 1000, so before my booked appointment for the test I had to go in and have them add some additional oil (on their recommendation). Apparently they added .5L. At 1250k they said the car used a total of .8L and they said it passed.

I am confused as to how I met their specs of .5L/1000k based on the above info. If I go by my oil indicator, I will be adding 1L of oil every 2 weeks. This seems completely inappropriate for a 2009 with only 70k on it.

I am now having an independent test done. So far it looks like I am burning much more than what the Audi consumption test indicated.

Has anyone else had issues with the results of their oil consumption test at a dealer level?

It's not normal, but they'll tell you it is and possibly keep deflecting the issue. At this point it's of my opinion that should Audi be forced to fix all of these 2.0Ts they would go broke. Hell, I can't even get the dealer to book mine without wanting to charge me the ridiculous 700 bucks for the test.

Mine's currently guzzling 1L per every 500-600KM. Even less if I use the stock Castrol, it seems Mobil 1 is lasting a little bit longer between top ups but don't ask me why. I wouldn't feel right dumping this on anyone else so I am hanging on to the car until something major goes down and then I can dump Audi and VW for good.

If it's so "normal" than ask them how much oil the 3.0T consumes normally and if its less or even 0 than maybe trade into an S4 before your car starts consuming more oil than gas.

You are not alone, as pibb Tibbs mentioned, there are many people having this issue. I am not going to sit down while Audi gets away with this. Here you will find many more people with the same issues and worse, like myself. https://www.audiforum.ca/a4-b8-typ-8...e6/#post194512

If we stand together, we can do something about it.

Please consider what I have to say regarding a class action suit against Audi. I don't require anything from you other than, your name which you can PM to me and your story which you can post. I will collect all information and put it together on a site with your permission and anyone else who wants to get this resolved.
