Hi, we bought a brand new A4 2.0T Quatrro just over 12 months ago. This summer we have noticed a droning, warble type noise, which gets louder with speed. There is no qobble felt in the steering wheel or the center console, so its not the tyres.
It also sounds louder during braking, but no pulse or wobbling felt on the pedal either.

I am getting concerned there is a transmission issue, or wheel bearing issue. It is booked in for a service on Thursday so I hope they pick up whats wrong then, but I just wanted to get a heads up in case anyone else has had this problem.

Well just got a call from the service guy at the dealership. Wheel bearings and drive train is all good. But they say it is the tyres going out of round. The summer tires have had only about 10000km of use, I really wouldnt have thought a tire should be able to get so bad in such a short space of time.
Isnt this then a warranty issue with the tyre being defective? They are trying to say its the way the vehicle is driven, but my wife drives it most of the time, and she babys the car, its her pride and joy.
Anyone think Audi should replace the tires or at least meet me half way on this one?

Well hello there.I have the exact same problem. Tomorrow going back to Mark motors of Ottawa to complain. Been there this Friday,they told me I've lost some weight from the rims,they re balanced tires.Went to Toronto Saturday (disaster),even my wife ,as a passenger, noticed vibrations on the floor.The worst part is at speed of 120-125 is most driven speed on Highway, and on that speed vibrations are the worst.The problem is they do what you tell them to do,not to examine an issue and find the problem.Also I've been told my tires may be worn out (Pirelli tires 40.000 km on it-come on).Losing my patients slowly but surly,if they keep dragging this issues till my warranty is over ,well certainly will contact Audi Canada, and headquarter in Ingolstadt. Hello there again

Got my vehicle back today, and seem's like problem is gone.Actually , it was problem with the tires.They exchange original Pirelli tires with new Continental tires (what a difference:shock).Vehicle is now performing as Audi has to perform.
Mark motors did god job.
