2011 A4 S-line winter rims question
Hi all,
Newbie question here. I am leasing a 2011 A4 S-line and is looking for a set of used winter rims+tires on kijiji. I am confused with all the different rims/tires I can use on the car. After a few hours of research, I got more confused with the use of spacers and what not!
Recently came across a set:
toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-auto-parts-tires-tires-rims-Audi-A6-Rims-Pirelli-SottoZero-Winter-Tires-W0QQAdIdZ445359015
Do you guys think these will work? If not, what kind of questions or things I should look for in a set of 17in rims for winter tires?
Thanks!

Re: 2011 A4 S-line winter rims question
Audi OEM A4 wheels have an offset of 40 for the 8x18 inch wheels and they have 2 wheels listed for 7.5x17 one is 36 and the other 45. The 7x16 have an offset of 42. So, you have a wide range of offsets to use. As long as the offset on those being sold on Kijiji is in that range you should be alright. The other factor to consider is whether the brake rotors will clear the inside hub of the wheel.
There is a set of 16in wheels and almost new tires for sale in the for sale section of this forum for $300. On the used market $800 is a little steep. I bough a set of OEM 16's with almost new tires for $500 last year.

Forgot to mention that when it comes to winter tires you don't need to stick to the same OEM size as your summer tires. Narrower is actually better to cut though the snow rather than ride up on top of it.
You'll want to keep the total diameter of your tire close to the tire that came with your car to keep the speedometer accurate. You can use this calculator for that.
Tire size calculator
You will also want to adjust your tire pressure if the load rating on the tire is different to the originals. I have a calculator here somewhere. I post it when I find it.

Haven't found my calculator but you can use the TRA inflation tables at Toyo to find what you need. Find your OEM tire size and load index; look up your OEM tire pressure on the chart which will give you the load rating at that pressure; Look up your new tire and find the presure which corresponds to the same load rating.

Re: 2011 A4 S-line winter rims question
Overall diameter on the s-line OEM Conti's is 25.9" so 17" rims would require 225-50x17's to maintain same diameter and reduce tire tread width which is desirable in winter conditions.
