2009 Audi A4
Every now and again, a new vehicle comes along which prompts the question, "Do we really need a new one of these when the one we can buy right now is about as good as it can possibly be?"

Well looking at the specs for the new 2009 Audi A4, I'm quite happy having purchased an A4 prior to this year. Don't get me wrong the new look, front face look and the back end look awesome, however the longer body, 1.8T engine seem to turn me off a little. It's said that there are 5 flavors of the engine.
- 3.2L - V6
- 1.8T
- 3.0, 2.7, and 2.0L TDI
Great for Audi for making the selection for Diesel in this new high gas price market, however shame on taking away the 2.0T, as there's a much better response than the 1.8T.
I'm heading out to the unvailing in a few weeks in Ottawa, so can't wait to see it in person, and maybe see if I can take it out for a spin.
It is said that there will be 2 kind of groups with the new 2009 A4, those who love it as they're looking for a bigger sport sedan, and those who hate it as they like the compactness of the 05 - 08 models. In my opinion, don't fix what aint broken,....

Re: 2009 Audi A4
Regina_RS4, thanks for the correction, the review must have been miss quoted, in this case I'm in the love category, as the 2.0T engine is my fav. However I will still judge to see if the increase in width and length will make a difference, as you can see I'm in to more compact cars.
Upon purchasing my A4 I thought it's too big for me, sure enough after have a baby, and a few road trips, I came to a conclusion that this is a small car, my wife's Civic, has a bit more trunk space.

Re: 2009 Audi A4
I would have been bummed if it came with a 1.8T as well. I've driven the 07/08 and the 09 now and the engine feels a little smoother on the 09. It's also not as noisy, but time will tell. I think once you see it, you will get over the fact that it is 5" longer than it's predecessor.
That's funny about the Civic! Good thing you kept it for the wife. Maybe it's time for an avant?!

Currently the 2009 A4 is offered in two engine options, the 3.2 and 2.0T. It's gorgeous and great to drive. I guess I'm in the "love it" category.

The avant is pretty cool too. I saw them in Japan in April. Too bad about no manual transmission in the avant though.

Ya, that's one thing I miss with the Avant, but sadly I need the cargo space for work and hauling the dog around.

Turbo All the way, If I could afford the car as well as the GAS, I would have gone for the V8 (S4)... the 3.2 is great all around however the Turbo gives you that edge, race car feel, over the 6 Cylinder.
