Winter Tire / RIM Sizes
Ok this is getting stupid...
Firstly, yes, you can use 16" on a B7, you should NOT be using it on a B8 - your "enhanced" braking system includes larger rotors and crap - but even if it fits now...think about it...what happens in the winter?
It SNOWS - which means it cakes the inside of your rims....and when it gets warm (aka sitting @ a parking lot + your steaming hot pads), it freezes. So after that nice big snow storm, your tires turn for the first time in a few hours, and KGHEKHROR, it grinds up against the braking calipers...
Congrats, saving your $100 just cost you a whole lot of money to get your braking system fixes.
There's a REASON why the dealers tell B8 owners to NOT use 16" rims! Stop trying to out think the engineers.
