Alex @ Mississauga Audi told me today that their shop test fitted a set to confirm this. Also, 16" Sport Edition rims for a 2010 A4 will be test fitted in the next couple of working days (larger hub size that fits MB cars).

Sophisticated and understated, the A4 offers a driver-oriented cockpit featuring the intuitive MMI operating system, the Open Sky sunroof and spacious and convenient rear storage area. i think it is pretty cool!!!!

Yup they will. It's the smallest size available when you pick the car on Tire Rack. And those guys really know their stuff.

Can you imagine trying to water ski with cross country skis? I have 235/45 17's for summer, 215/55 16 for winter (though 205 would be good, and I could even use 195/65 15's as per the door sticker).

Hope this helps!
My old B6 listed all 15/16/17 sizes, my old B7 only listed 17 if I recall correctly, and my B8 only lists 19.

My B8 (2009 sports pkg) shows 245/40 R18 93Y for front and back and a 19" for a spare...on the B pillar

So far i have found the following for Winter Tire information.

Tire Rack suggests 225/50 R17
245/40 R18
255/35 R19

I also went to Costco and they look up 235/45 R17

Tire Rack and Costco both suggest Michelin X-ice Xi2 Rubber

Generally speaking, you are better off with a narrower tire in the snow so it doesn't "float" on top but rather digs in deep to get grip. That's why tirerack recommended the 225's. My a4 has 235 45 17 for summer and 215 55 16 for winter. I could even run as narrow as 195 65 15 for snows, but the vain side of me likes more rubber in the wheel wells.

After test fitting, I can confirm that the Sport Edition 16's fit a 2010 A4 ! The narrower contact patch of a 16 will help the car turn circles around the same car with wider tires - My B6 Avant with 215/55/16's was noticeably better in snow than my B7 Avant on 235/45/17's.

Ok this is getting stupid...

Firstly, yes, you can use 16" on a B7, you should NOT be using it on a B8 - your "enhanced" braking system includes larger rotors and crap - but even if it fits now...think about it...what happens in the winter?

It SNOWS - which means it cakes the inside of your rims....and when it gets warm (aka sitting @ a parking lot + your steaming hot pads), it freezes. So after that nice big snow storm, your tires turn for the first time in a few hours, and KGHEKHROR, it grinds up against the braking calipers...

Congrats, saving your $100 just cost you a whole lot of money to get your braking system fixes.

There's a REASON why the dealers tell B8 owners to NOT use 16" rims! Stop trying to out think the engineers.
