Window intermittant strange behaviour

Hello,
I have an intermittant problem with my window(s). Audi A4 prestige, 2018

To date I can only recall having it affect the driver side front window.
I have had the A4 for over a year now.
Usually I press the window button down and the window will procede to open fully, until I stop it. And the same for closing it.

It first happened shortly after I purchased it. Lets say I wanted to fully open the driver window...When I pressed the window down button the window would go down about 2 inches then stop.
I would have to release the button and press down again , and the window would go down another 2 inches. I would have to repeat this process until the window was fully down (or to wherever I wanted it).
Raising the window was the same... I had to pull up on the button several times, each time the window moving up about 2 inches, same distance each time, and would refuse to go up all at once all the way.

It did not seem to matter how hard I pressed, how long I pressed after the window stopped (maybe 5 sec more or less) Where the rotating knob (with the white dot) on the door next to my knee was pointing (I could see icons for windows as a selection on the knob)

This has happened TWICE since I got the car.
The first time it happened it resolved itself in a very short time (let's say a day or 2).
The second time, a few weeks ago, it resolved itself overnight. The next day I took it to the shop to show the mechanic, and it was working fine.

I have absolutley no idea how the window reset itself to "proper" working order , not to say that the 2 inch thing is improper, but it is NOT what I want.
Thank goodness the problem resolves itself whenever or however it happens.

It would be really nice to know WTF is going on though, so that next time I can correct it right away.

Anybody??
