Re: Very unusual handling

im having a similar vibration but only at 40km/h it started after i got my clutch replaced, it sounds like the vibration is coming from the hanging bearing on the driveshaft/propeller shaft but im not to sure.

So my car went back to the shop yesterday...

They changed the ATF and are now checking the results of the oil consumption test. Results show that the car barely passed so Audi says to check for scoring under some thing or other... Apparently whatever they are doing is quite the task and my car has to stay there another day or so...

They gave me a Corolla last night as a rental... in the snow...

I was laughing at others on the drive home last night from TO to Markham. "...suckers with no Quattro!..." I screamed.

Now I'm one of them... :(

Re: Very unusual handling

Well when I first took delivery of my vehicle I took it in after a few weeks because I could feel hard downshifting. When the car slowed down at a red from 3-2 and 2-1, the car would jerk/shake a little. They did a flash of something or other as suggested in a TSB. Now I've feeling hard upshifts. So when I'm at a stop light and accelerate, auto shifting from 1-2 and 2-3 feels like I'm going uphill... serious shift shock. More so when it's cold out but still predominant when the car has warmed up. For a luxury sports sedan I don't think this should happen. Shifting should be smooth and seamless (not so much DSG but def not Chrysler-like)...

Re: Very unusual handling

Does the noise change proportionally with your speed?

Does the noise suddenly get louder when you put a side load on the front end going around a curve) .. if yes.. its a wheel bearing. 200$ plus labor.
