Tire size for 2012 A4 2.0 TFSI Quattro Komfort sedan (B8)

Hi

My A4 came with all season tires of size 245/45R17 and factory wheels. For the winter tires and wheels, I am thinking to purchase them of the same size as my all season set. Can I instead purchase the winter tires and wheels of a different size like 225/45R17 or 225/50R17? Sorry if this is a silly question but I am really unclear when it comes to tire and wheel sizes and what can fit into my car.

Thanks.

Phil

The dealer sold me 225/50 R17 winter tires (I've got the car with 245/45 R17 all seasons too)

Thats what my tire dealer told me as well when I changed to winter tires with new wheels this past weekend. I might change to 225/50 R17 for my all seasons next Spring as the tire dealer confirmed that my all season wheels can fit 225/50 R17.

While you're at it see if your tire supplier will give you something for your all season tires and upgrade to Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Very quiet, good in rain and absolutely amazing improvement in handling. They stick so well that they will shock you and you may have to upgrade anti-roll bars just to use all the traction.
