Replacing shocks void warranty?
Hey all,
I've been told by my dealer that rear shocks are leaking and needs to be replaced and quoted $750+tax for the work. I was going to look at other shops but than a friend told me if I use third party than it'll void my warranty. I don't have me lease agreement but can anyone verify or clear this up? It doesn't make sense to me since it's not involving engine, transmission, etc. My car is 2011 b8 Quattro. Any help is greatly appreciated. |
Re: Replacing shocks void warranty?
Why didn't the 4 year warranty cover the whole cost of replacement (part & labor)??? I just wonder...

Re: Replacing shocks void warranty?
Shocks, unless they're malfunctioning right off the bat, won't be covered by warranty as they're typically considered wear and tear items.
What do you get for the price quoted? It certainly will not void your warranty, but you need to get compatible hardware. BIlstein sells very nice replacements that are more affordable and more functional than OEM, especially if you plan to lower on springs. |
