Replace front wheel bearings
My independent mechanic has told me he's sourced a new front wheel bearing for me that comes as a kit with the bearing already pressed into a hub. Also comes with four bolts for around the perimeter of the Hub and one which I think he said goes in the middle. His price is approximately $400 including tax.
I found one at Canadian Tires Parts Source for $150 and another one , a slightly smaller size, ( we'll see which one is correct upon disassembly) for about 100 bucks. Neither of them includes any bolts.
can anyone think of why I would have to replace the bolts just because I'm replacing the bearing? Are these consumables for some bizarre reason?
