Lowering A4 Allroad?

Hi there!

I'm considering the 2013 allroad (because they cancelled the avant), but the ride is too high for my liking. I'm thinking about lowering it to the regular A4 height. Do you guys think a mod like that would bring the handling to the same level as a regular A4?

Any idea how much a mod like that would cost? Would it affect my warranty or insurance?

Kind of bouncing between this idea, or just looking for used Avant.

Thanks!

Might help: B8 allroad on coilovers and 20's

Thanks for that link, the 20" tires and low suspension sure look awesome! :) I think that car is lowered way below the regular A4 level thou.

Do you guys think I'd need coilovers or would it be enough to get different springs? Target is pretty much regular A4 ride quality and height.

Couple of things nice about coil-overs:
- you get a matched spring and shock combo
- you can raise it to a height you like (H&R Sport Springs to low? H&R OE Sport too high? - you don't get that with decent coil-over combo - you set it to the height you like - if too low, you simply dial it up vs more $$ for different springs, labour, etc. Great for OCD types :))

Re: Lowering A4 Allroad?

Just an update. My insurance will not accept a lowered car, and I don't have an option to switch to another company.

My search for an A4 Avant in the configuration that I want came up dry, except for a couple of seriously expensive cars in QC.

I'll probably give my money to the other German automaker once their wagon hits the market in the Spring. That is if they don't discontinue it before that time. Kind of a bummer, as I prefer the ride in an A4 so much more.
