I'm new to Audi's, I've searched and I couldn't find the answer to my question on the internet:

I've seen a tonne of photos of the 2009 B8 with the NAV. However, I haven't seen what the 2009 B8 without NAV looks like. What I am talking about is the screen at the top of the console. What goes in its place in absence of a NAV screen?

If you know what goes in its place, is it possible to put in an Aftermarket CD/DVD/GPS/MP3 screen?

 

The screen stays regardless of which options you have. The MMI controls move up from around the shifter. I think you would have a pretty tough time doing any aftermarket.

Ah I see what I can expect.....Yes, I can't see how an aftermarket NAV is going in there.

 

You can't. That screen is the only place where all the settings for the car, radio/cd and telephone are displayed.

that middle console looks so empty. without the gadgetry....

 

Yeah, it looks empty and you end up with all the ***** in front of the shifter.. kind of annoying. I don't know why they do that though, unless the nav screen is bigger and pushes everything else down?

 

To make people pay out $3500 for Nav to get the cool wing-shaped constellation of buttons and ****. It's to differentiate the status.
