A/C blows hot weird beeping n clicking noise after cars off

I noticed the ac was not cooling it blows hot air no matter what temp what setting.

When I turn car off the fans would still run for a good 2 minutes or so but now they don't ... Maybe once in a rare time.

When I turn the car off and the fans don't stay or turn on I hear a low beep... Beep... Beep about 3 beeps I think and then a clicking noise then it would beep again 3 times and click and then after that nothing...

I can't make where the beeping is coming from but it's inside the engine on the driver side (just a guess)

I'm not a rich person and if I could get this fixed at home at low cost that will be great. The dealer said if its a compressor it's 2500 to fix and 175 just to test it .

I went to auto zone n bought some freeon with the gauge n the bottle did not get cold it did empty but never did anything.

Please help

Re: A/C blows hot weird beeping n clicking noise after cars off

Your A/C system may have lost its charge of refrigerant. This is probably the most common cause of a no cooling problem. Another possible cause of no cooling may be that your A/C compressor is not be engaging when you turn on the A/C. This can be caused by an electrical fault in the A/C compressor circuit or the magnetic clutch that drives the compressor. Another cause could be an internal obstruction inside the refrigerant circuit that is preventing refrigerant from circulating inside the A/C system. Another possibility might be a blend air door inside the HVAC unit that is stuck in the HEAT position and is preventing air from flowing through the A/C evaporator.
