2013 A4 Weak Brakes

Just got a 2013 A4. The brakes felt weak when the car was brand new. I figure it needed time to break in the pads and rotors. The car had 43km on pickup. I've put about 1000km on it now, but the brakes still feel weak. The initial bite is not great and I have to apply brakes very early or else the car doesn't seem to want to stop.

Is this a common problem on the 2013's because of the low brake dust pads that they use? Or should I take my car into the dealer?

My brakes were somewhat shaky for the first 100 or so km, but I never experienced what you described.

So no, not normal as far as my experience goes
