Xenon woes
Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the forum - joined mostly because I'm ready to bang my head against the wall. 2006 A4, 110K Kms, 6 speed, bought new. I've replaced three xenon bulbs in less than 2 years, and now the sunuvagun is blown again. At almost 3 hundred a pop, this is getting way expensive. The ignitor is 6-7 hundred for the unit, plus blood money for labour, but the dealer service dept sez the ignitor is okey dokey. I have seen MANY an audi with blown headlamps. Do any of you know how to hammer Audi into submission and get them to right a fundamental flaw?
I deal with OWASCO, and while they have tried their best (?), the lamps keep frying...

Re: Xenon woes
Not an extended warranty. Just the "run-of-the-mill" warranty. And that expired 30K kms ago... This was happening prior to the warranty expiration, but they led me to belive it's a "normal" occurance with Xenons... the service department diagnosed the ignitor as Operating within spec...

Re: Xenon woes
You can buy bulbs for $35 each here: HID Xenon A Conversion Kit WWW.CQLIGHT.CA
I have ordered from them before, they are easy to deal with, owner is good. I have bought 3 retro fit kits and one set of replacement bulbs from him. All transactions were good.
Don't buy the bulbs at the dealer. There are a million websites to order them from too a lot cheaper. They are exactly the same too. D2S is a generic fitting bulb like 9004. They are not Audi specific.
Buy two then you don't have to worry about it.
