Xenon light and Chip installation

Do you guys have any recommendation for the type of Xenon light kit, where to buy them I am in Ontario, and do they work, do you really notice diffenrntt and are they equivalent to the original Xenon light which come with the Audi?

Some thing else, what is the best way and what is the requirements to boost the horsepower of the car I heard that chip can be installed by the dealer will make huge different in the car performance.

And is any of the above will void the warranty of the car?

thanks for any help

What engine do you have in the A4? That will determine most of your modding potential.

As for the lights i don't have much experience there but I hear the Hella HID lights are great (the OEM european version) but there are also many other alternatives someone else should be able to fill you in on.

Contact pfaff Audi, i recently bought an 08 A4 Quattro special edition from pfaff audi. they do the performance chip at pfaff tuning keeping your warranty valid. As for HID, i used to own a 2000 honda prelude few years back and got myself an HID kit through ebay, look at the bulb temperature for desired colour/brightness.

Re: Xenon light and Chip installation

yeah check ebay for the VVME I know a lot of guys that have gone with that kit. This will not void your warranty if you do it yourself and it might run you about $80! Didnt you get a factory xenon set? I belive the factory uses 4300k and I would not recommend going higher than 6000k after that the light just turns into a blue and higher than that goes to purple. check a light manufacturer they have a color scale @ like sylvania.com google it! If you want to do the fog lights or the high beams for the xenons there is a bit of retro-fitting involved depending how good you are with tools. The HID kits come with a new ballast that needs to be mounted etc... this will not void your warranty and the dealer will ask for about $2000 to do the same thing! I looked into it a lot! PM me if you have any other questions!

As for chiping the car that is the highest increase in HP that you will get and the best bang for your buck! Check places like goapr.com or giac if you google it it will give you the site. APR is on the higher side and you feel a lot more agressive in the lower end of boost vs giac! As for the Giac chip it feels more agressive in the higher end of boost/rpm's and you generate less power! As far as warranty goes that depends on the dealer. My dealer said for warranty as long as you can prove that it wasnt the chip that damaged the car than they will fix it! Check with your local dealer! Once again PM if you got questions! and depends how hard you drive your turbo probably wont last as long!

Hey man, dont get the 8k that means that is a really blue color of light, and it will not match the current xenons that you have go with a 6k or a 4.3k like I mentioned in the post. Do not order it until you get the car!!! Once you get the car take the bulb out from your current xenon and check it should say wether it is a h7 or a h11 or wahtever or call the dealer and ask for the parts desk and then tell them you need a new xenon light and give them your car model number and ask what the fitment is if its a h7 or whatever they let you know! Then purchese the same thing from vvme.com also ask what the light intensity is which is the 4300 or the 6000 i belive its the 4300!

As for the chip yes most places will increase by about 50HP but that is not true HP! Once you get the chip you will need a new DV(diverter valve) I would suggest going with APR's R1 or a Forge007!! it is a very simple replacement and it will not void your warranty! The DV is located on the passenger side of the car underneath the headlight sort of. and the "chip" for the b6-b7 models of the audi, which b6 is from 2002-2005 and b7 is 2005.5 to 2008 (chip is just a litterary term but they just program it into your ECU(onboard computer) and you switch between the program through your cruise control)and then there is the b5 which is the 1997-2002 model and they need an actual chip that is sauttered into place on your ecu
