To answer a few questions:
1) The TSI has a roller cam, not a flat tappet cam, therefore, the TSI has no 'cam follower' problems.
2) The timing belt on the 2.0T FSI is not 'better' than the 1.8T. The reason it lasts longer and is safer is that the bearing is oblong, so it takes the stress off the belt on a part of the cycle.
I'll still replace mine at 120,000km, that's because I'm not about to be stuck with a crazy bill to replace the engine. That...or pull off the top timing belt cover and take a look at the rubber. If it's starting to crack, replace it.

I usually do the timing belt on the 2.0 around 100k Sometimes the belts start to squeal around 75k but don't really show signs of wear just noisy. The noise just gets annoying so most customers get it replace early.

I had the timing belt done early (around 101k) because I intend to keep my 2006 car for another 5 years, but otherwise I've been told that as long as it's done by 160k (km) it's not something you need to worry about. That's what an Audi dealership and certified shop tells the customer.

As far as the cam follower issue goes -- don't assume that if you do go to a dealership for a timing belt change, they will change the cam follower parts for you automatically! Even if you're paying for the whole thing out of pocket. That's one thing I was very disappointed at, AFAIK they didn't check the cam followers or even change the oil. Even though when I dropped my car off I gave the guy a list of things to look at including the fact that the oil was dirty. Frankly I'm really not impressed with the service I've had at my dealership and have already told them that I'm not coming back. I practically have to hold their hand if I want things done right.
