Wink WHAT to use to clean the dashboards

Hello everyone: I have a convertible A4 and just curious what people are using out there to clean their dashboards. In my situation, I have a convertible and therefore need UV protection as well. I'd like to know what the best product would be.. Someone already has mentioned that a product called AEROSPACE 303 is great. ANYONE have more ideas??? Thanx for your time.

To clean my dash on my A6, I just dilute a little simple green in water and wash with a sponge (wring out sponge before wiping dash) and use a microfiber to dry. Simple green is very safe and it picks up the dirt and oil. I find if you do not clean the dash first before dressing, you just seal in the dirt and oil. My favorite dressing is Mothers preserves. I like how it brings back the natural look of the dash without leaving a 'greasy' feel to the dash. I believe it provides UV protection as well.

I use a product called "Lexol" on all my leather and vinyl surfaces...

Thank you so much, I appreciate your comments. I know there is alot of products out there that promise to do the job and actually wreck the look of the dashboard. Thanx again.

Not to start a fight, but I stopped using Lexol, as Aerospace 303 is less glossy and less greasy. Also easier to find - at Canadian Tire, usually. It has UV protection just like Lexol does, so it protects the dash well.

Thumbs up Re: WHAT to use to clean the dashboards

Hey that is cool to reply back with this response because at the end of the day, it is so appreciated to get real quality when we have these nice cars and preserve the beauty that is within them... Thanx.
It is also good to let everyone else know if you have used these types of products in the past and educate people, so good on yah.

Hmm, the trick with Lexol is to let it dry for at least 2 hours....and not touch it. I swear by Lexol (but I am unsure of the other product you mention).

Lexol always gets a thumbs up because the conditioner is actually revitalizing the oils of the leather, rather than covering them up (think of the stupidly bad Armor All). Lexol therefore not only preserves and protects, but also softens up the leather.

Like I said, just stating my 0.02$. I have done no research on the other product, but like all products, we use those that we either a) like, or b) fall for the marketing...

Maybe just to clarify my answer, my steps above are for vinyl textured dashes only. For anything leather, use the Lexol separate cleaner and condition and follow the products directions. My seats are leather and they only get the Lexol treatment and I could not be happier with the product. But for vinyl dash, I believe a wash with a mild soap then a conditioner/dressing produces excellent results.

Thank you for clarifying LEXOL for me. It sounds like it is truly meant for the leather part and the other products as mentioned in this thread would be great for the dashboard, like the aerospace 303 stuff. Take care.
