Default Touch Up paint

Hello guys,

I got the touch up paint from the dealer today (IBIS WHITE) and they gave me two pens one Ibis White and one Clear.

They told me to apply the White first then the clear.

Have you ever done that before?

I noticed when I got the car that the previous owner (or the dealr) did a bad job on the previous spots before. The paint was sticking out a bit (was not smooth). Not visible, but u know.

Any hints?

not to sure. i know you pm'd me but when i responded i thought you were saying you had tiny little spots all over the car from the windows down. that i found in my cause was something was reacting with the audi paint. have the car claybar'd seems to remove them all and clean it up nice. only thing is i have to get the car done 2x per year to get it all gone or it looks like a have a million tiny rust spots. seems to be ibis white that i've seem effected the most.

Hello thanks for the reply,

This post is different from the message I sent you.

I have couple of stone chips, so I went to the dealer and got the touch up paint. I am wondering if there is a specific way to apply such touch up.

I also installed the nano-fusion film on the hood. Do you have one installed?

Going back to the tiny rust spots. Is it really rust or just some kind of a reaction. I will have my clybared. Do you do it your self? I will try to buy a clay bar and do it myself. I bet it takes a long time. Do I need to wax or wash the car before? And do I need to be in an enclosed area or could I do it in the open?

Thanks for your msg!

Cheers.

Everybody gets these and it's just more noticeable on a white vehicle. I have two neighbours with a white car and a white truck that are covered with them. One source can be the tiny shavings left behind by snowplough blades/runners, combined with road salt. This get's thrown all over the bottom of your car and becomes embedded on the surface, where it continues to rust. i picked up my silver Avant in January and noticed some when I did my first wash/wax. I haven't noticed any new deposits since winter.

Concerning the question about touch up technique, you will find many excellent videos and tutorials if you google this topic. Some of the detail supply shops also have great tutorials on all aspects of paint and finish care.
